Many years ago I spent a lot of time programming using Prolog (a logic programming language). I had not kept up with this language and assumed it had disappeared. So, imagine my surprise when I read that Prolog is used in IBM’s Watson System for Natural Language Processing. The PDF linked here is a short paper briefly describing how Prolog is used in Watson.

I guess it is just as well that my Paypal Security Key fob doesn’t work anymore since it is based on SecurID. I assumed the timing mechanism got out of whack. Perhaps it is simply out of commission. Paypal never responded to my email requesting another key.
